Creative Tools

“To do my best work from The Land of Make+Believe in rural California—with clients around the world—I’ve found my way to some great tools.”

Note: I currently have no official relationship with any of these companies. (But I’d be open to that!) I’m simply sharing the tools I consistently use to make my life and work better. Enjoy!

Craft

They say: the future of documents — Craft helps you think, write, and communicate better.

I say: it’s true! And Craft does it beautifully. Tech no longer gets in the way of capturing, expressing, and sharing my ideas. For anyone forced into using Google Docs for ease of sharing and collaboration, who actively hates its limitations—especially its aesthetic ones, Craft is worth serious consideration. Want to see how I use it? Check out How Soul Work Works. (Bonus: you’ll get a sneak peek into my brand identity process.)

Miro

They say: the online collaborative whiteboard platform to bring teams together, anytime, anywhere.

I say: Miro is a game-changer for facilitating productive remote meetings and for having useful artifacts after. Their community-supported platform has great templates and frameworks you can use, plus you can create and contribute your own.

Volley

They say: reduce meetings and increase connection with asynchronous video conversations.

I say: the ability to reduce meeting overwhelm while increasing connection and productivity? YES ALL DAY LONG. Experience it for yourself. Contact me on Volley.

Otter

They say: real time, accurate notes that are stored in one central, secure, and searchable place so you and your team can be more engaged, collaborative, and productive.

I say: I would be in major trouble without Otter’s audio recordings and AI-generated meeting transcriptions. Because of their app, I can stay present in conversations and trust that I’ll have the notes I need when I need them.

GoVisually

They say: complete online proofing solution for professional creative teams.

I say: while I don’t have an account myself, I’ve heard good things. And this kind of tool would have been a godsend at many points in my creative career.
